Once securely rooted in the farmland of northern Idaho, Katy Fox left this haven of familiarity to earn her Masters in Fine Art Painting from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California. During this time she studied in an intensive plein air painting summer program in Corciano, Italy and attended the 1st Annual Plein Air Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2012 she received Best of Show at the Reno Visual ArtBlast, second place in the Driggs Digs Plein Air Quick Draw and third place at the Palouse Plein Air Competition. Her work has been shown in venues in Idaho, California, Nevada, Arizona and Wyoming. She continually explores the western United States and beyond; yet, her work is continually flavored by the wholesome people and soulful landscapes of her childhood in Idaho.
